Howdy, y’all! It’s been a little while since I did a product review, and hopefully this will be the first of a few new entries comin’ atcha. I’ve been having a blast trying out some new products lately (or, new to me!), and I have to share my thoughts with you guys!
Today’s review is over NYX Cosmetics’ Gotcha Covered Concealer. I usually go for the HD concealer by NYX, but this one drew me in with its promises of full, waterproof coverage and the fact that it’s infused with coconut oil. Here’s the description from the Ulta site:
Gotcha Covered Concealer by NYX Cosmetics always has your back! This full coverage, waterproof and long-lasting concealer effectively covers up discolorations and imperfections without creasing or caking. Infused with coconut oil, this highly blendable concealer also leaves your face with a healthy looking glow.
I have a problem with my concealer caking up on my acne and dry spots, so I was really intrigued by this concealer. However, I purchased this concealer back in the beginning of December, and even though I have tested it and tried it out with multiple foundations and setting powders as well as two different setting sprays since then, I am just not a fan of this product. It’s sad, because I had high hopes for this concealer, but it just does not stay on my face.
The concealer comes in a little squeeze tube, similar to IT Cosmetics’ Bye Bye Undereye concealer, which is what I was hoping it was a dupe for. You just squeeze a little out onto your finger tip and use your fingers, a sponge, or a brush to blend it out. Initially, it does give great coverage, and it blends beautifully into my foundation. It smells good, and a little goes a long way. However, after a few hours I notice that even without touching my face, it’s gone when I go to touch up. Yes, it does give a lot of coverage to begin with, but something about this formula just slips right off my skin, and despite using setting powder and setting spray, nothing works to help it last on my skin. For that reason, I’m going to have to give this concealer a 3/10.
Have you tried this concealer? If so, how did it work for you?
