Finding your holy grail, go-to makeup products is no easy task. There are so many options out there for all different skin types, and when you have combination skin like me, sometimes things that work one month may not work so well a month later. However, I recently tried a foundation that may be game-changing for me, and I absolutely couldn’t wait to share with y’all!
I have fallen in love with Almay’s Clear Complexion Blemish Healing Liquid Makeup. For those with acne prone skin like me, I am always looking for a foundation that will cover my acne and scarring, but also look natural on my skin and match my super pale skintone. DING DING DING- we have a WINNER!!! The Ivory shade, the lightest shade in the color range, is perfect for me, and the foundation is buildable so I can choose how much coverage I want. It starts as a medium coverage foundation but is easily built up to full coverage.
I apply this foundation with a damp Real Techniques Complexion Perfection Sponge. I set it with a little setting powder, then spray my face with a setting spray when I’m done. It applies the makeup flawlessly and gives great coverage so my skin looks natural and it doesn’t look like I’m wearing a ton of makeup. I tried it with a brush as well, but I definitely prefer applying it with the sponge; I feel like the finish is much more natural and “airbrushed” that way. It gives such a beautiful satin finish to my skin, and it stays on all day long without needing lots of powder touch ups. Sometimes my skin is dry and sometimes it’s oilier, and I can say that since I first heard of this foundation and bought it, I’ve experienced both types of skin days, and the makeup wears beautifully either way.
The scent of this makeup is a little chemical-y, but not so much that it bothers me. I’m sensitive to strong smells, but this doesn’t affect me or give me a headache like other beauty products I’ve tried. I really love the packaging, although my bottle is different from the one pictured above. Mine looks like this:
I also LOVE that this foundation has a pump so I’m not wasting extra product! I can start with two pumps and add more as needed instead of pouring out too much to begin with.
I bought my foundation from Ulta (they currently have buy 1, get 1 at 50% off!), but you can also get it from Amazon (as linked above), Walgreen’s, and other stores who carry Almay products!
