Hey everyone! It’s been a little while since I brought you guys a product review, but I’m back with a bang!

As a member of the site Influenster, I receive complimentary products for testing purposes in exchange for honest reviews. Last month I was a lucky recipient of the L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay VoxBox, in which I received Loreal’s Hair Expert Extraordinary Clay Pre-Shampoo Mask, Extraordinary Clay Shampoo, and Extraordinary Clay Conditioner.

As I’ve mentioned here on the blog before, after having my son, my hair type changed from normal to oily. It happened pretty quickly and it left me at a loss to figure out which products would be better for my hair than the ones I’d been using before. After using these products, I think I’ve found some new favorites!

Even though my hair is oily, the ends always seem dry. I’ve tried the old tried-and-true trick of skipping conditioner on the roots and just applying it to the ends, but then that leaves my roots not only oily but frizzy as well. And while my scalp is healthier than it used to be, I still wondered if there was a “perfect” formula out there for girls like me who need something to combat oil yet leave the rest of their hair looking and feeling conditioned and healthy again.

Enter the Extraordinary Clay collection. This collection of products leaves my hair looking soft and shiny, my scalp feeling clean and healthy (without itching!), and my hair isn’t weighed down by the product. I tried out their challenge by going two days between washes and I can safely say that even though my hair was looking a little flatter by the end of the 48 hours, it still looked, felt, and smelled clean at the end of the challenge.

I first applied the Pre-Shampoo Clay Mask to the roots of my hair. It was a messy process, but once it was on, I could feel it working to draw out the impurities in my hair and scalp. I left it on for about 5 minutes before getting in the shower to rinse. I rinsed using warm (not too hot!) water, and then applied the Extraordinary Clay Shampoo to my hair and worked it in for about a minute before washing it out. Once all the mask and shampoo were rinsed out, I followed with the Extraordinary Clay Conditioner, let it sit for about 2 minutes while I washed my body, and then rinsed it out. After getting out of the shower, I wrapped my hair in a towel and let it sit for probably 30 minutes while doing my makeup and getting dressed, so my hair was only barely damp by the time I got ready to style.

One thing I noticed immediately was how soft and shiny my hair was. After just blow drying, my hair looked smooth and shiny, and it was very volumious and bouncy. Even without flat ironing, my hair looked so smooth and pretty, as if I’d put argan oil or something on it. Because I didn’t want to “tamper” with the effects of the products, I didn’t use shampoo or any additional styling products for the first two days after using the product for the first time, and I can honestly say I am impressed. I have used it every other day since then and my hair looks so healthy. Most importantly, I’m not having to deal with oily roots anymore, and my ends don’t look dry and damaged anymore.

If you have the same hair issues I do (fine hair with oily roots and dry ends), you NEED to try these products. I don’t say that often, but these have been life changing for me and I will definitely continue using this line.
