I received this product free for testing purposes from Influenster in one of my VoxBoxes. At first, I was so excited to try it. I love Suave haircare products (I’m a big fan of their clarifying shampoo and conditioner), so I was sure this would be a winner.

I used this product three different times. I usually wash my hair every other day, so I tried this product about two days apart from each other each time. The first time, I followed the directions on the bottle:

Step 1: Shake can before and during use. Spray on lifted sections of hair 8-12 inches from roots where hair is mostly oily.
Step 2: Massage through roots to absorb oil evenly.
Step 3: Brush through for hair that is revived & full of body.

My hair didn’t look any different at first. It was still flat and even though they claim there is no residue left, my hair did have a residue left on it. It was gone after a little more brushing, but my hair was still flat. It did, however, feel a little more clean at the roots- except my whole head of hair was very stiff. My head did feel pretty itchy all day afterwards, but I decided I might just need to get used to the different formula than my usual dry shampoo.

The second time I used it, I decided to let it sit on my hair for a minute before massaging it through my hair. I let it sit for about 2 minutes while I was brushing my teeth, and then massaged it into my hair and brushed it through. This time it did look more voluminous, and it still felt cleaner, but still stiff and my GOD, it made my head itch worse than before!

The third time, I didn’t spray the dry shampoo as heavily as before. I sort of spritzed it around in my roots where I felt most oily. I waited again to massage it in, since I was happier with the overall appearance of my hair the second time after I let it sit, and then brushed it through. This time, I also cut down on my brushing. I didn’t have as bad of a problem with residue, and my hair did look ok, but it still made my head itch horribly. I ended up having to wash my hair before the day was over because the itching was driving me crazy.

I’m sad that this product didn’t work out for me, because it smells really good, and I am always looking for more budget-friendly products to save me money. It did give me a lot of volume, and my hair felt cleaner at the roots, but it also felt really stiff, kinda like straw. And the bottom line is that I can’t deal with the itchy scalp this product gives me. It may work for someone else, but my skin was not happy with it, so I can’t really recommend it.
