I don’t know about you, but fall has always been my favorite season! I love everything about it: the smell of the chilly air, the colors, and everything pumpkin!
Fall always brings us some great beauty trends, as well! Here are a few of my favorite beauty trends for Fall of 2016:
Dark Lip Colors
This year, it’s all about the dark, bold lip colors. You’re going to see a lot of deep purples and blues, and even black lipstick. My personal favorite shade for fall is this gorgeous deep purple from Maybelline called Blackest Berry:
Glitter is back, and it’s no longer just for high school girls or the club scene! A lot of makeup gurus are rocking beautiful glittery pigments on their eyelids and even their lips. The glitter cut crease is one way to rock the trend, and I love how beautiful and elegant it looks:
|081916| my absolute favorite look I’ve done.. Probably this whole year. I have been feeling so uninspired lately but I just went for it with this look and I absolutely love it and I hope you do too ✨ @anastasiabeverlyhills dipbrow in dark brown • I used all @anastasiabeverlyhills shadows •Dusty rose • Macaroon• Love letter & vermeer (modern Renaissance palette) • @nyxcosmetics jumbo pencil in white • @coastalscents crystal ball glitter • @vegas_nay @eylureofficial #grandglamor lashes • #minaaa28
Want to try out the glitter trend? Try this gorgeous golden pigment from NYX to give your eyes some sparkle for fall:
One trend I am absolutely loving this year for fall is yellow nails! Normally I’d go for something dark in the crimson or berry category for fall, but I think a mustard-colored nail is a gorgeous pop of color against all the darker colors we’ll be wearing:
One shade I have to have for this fall is Need Sunglasses by OPI:
Isn’t it gorgeous? Or, if you’d rather a shade with a little more orange, OPI’s The It Color is a deeper shade that walks the fine line between orange and yellow. It’s a perfect warm shade for fall!
Neon/Graphic Eye Looks

Neon makeup was big in summer, particularly pinks and oranges, but it’s not going away for fall. You’re going to see fun pops of color in shades like turquoise, lime green, and bright purple. My favorite way to rock a bright pop of color is to incorporate a pop of brightly colored eyeliner against a smokey eye. One of my favorite liners is NYX Vivid Brights Eyeliner in Vivid Escape, a gorgeous lime green that will look amazing on girls with hazel eyes:
Don’t know which color to try to make your eyes pop? Blue eyed girls should rock oranges or yellows, brown eyed girls would look amazing in purples or teals, and green eyed girls would look incredible in pink or red. Luckily, NYX has all these shades in their Vivid Brights line, and they’re all affordable, too!
Not ready for bright colors? That’s totally ok! You could skip the neon shades and pair a white liner with your normal black for a cool graphic look.
So this is not a new trend; every fall brings the redheads out in droves. There are tons of red shades out there, too, so it’s a color that anyone can try, whether you want to go strawberry blonde, more cinnamon-toned, or add some red highlights to dark brunette hair:
I absolutely adore red hair, and every fall I always do some sort of variation of red, whether it’s going all-over-auburn or adding piecey highlights or bayalage. However, we can’t always afford for me to go to the salon to get a professional dye job done on my hair, so when I have to color it at home, the brand I trust the most is L’oreal’s Feria line. Here’s one of my tried and true fall colors:
