I have something to say, and while my intent is not to offend, I also want to give my real and honest opinion on something. So here goes…
Over the past 2 months or so, I’ve had several friends come at me to buy LuLaRoe from them. I kid you not, I’ve probably been invited to or added to 7-8 parties/groups on Facebook within the last month, all from well-meaning friends who are excited to share their love for LuLaRoe with me. I get it… I have been there; we all have! We discover some new amazing product or company and we can’t wait to share it with our friends and family, in hopes of getting them hooked on it too so we can either a) sell product to them or b) reap the rewards of getting them to buy the product. For this reason, I don’t want to be rude to my friends about it, but I will be blunt, because that’s who I am.
I am not going to buy any LuLaRoe clothes, so please stop inviting me and adding me to parties/groups for it. And here are my reasons why:
Anyone who knows me knows I am a big girl. And when I say this, it’s not to put myself down, but to inform you that I’m aware that nobody wants to see any kind of form-fitting clothing on a big girl. Yes, I realize you sell more than just leggings, but since the leggings are what everyone keeps raving to me about, that’s my focus of this little rant, and I only wear leggings in the fall and winter with my tunics and long sweaters to hide my FUPA.
I don’t like the patterns. I’ve seen a couple that I didn’t hate, but for the most part, none of the pieces I’ve seen made me go “Oooh, I want that! I need to wear that to ________”. I’m not knocking those who do love the patterns; they’re just not my style.
It’s too expensive. I am not about to pay $28 for a pair of leggings. Sorry, but my $5 leggings from Old Navy are super comfortable and they go with everything, so I don’t see why I should pay any more for something I don’t wear that much anyway. I hate to spend big amounts of money on clothing unless it’s for a special occasion. We have three kids to take care of, so my Mommy Brain screams at me for spending money on myself when I have plenty of clothes already. I can take that money and spend it on treating my kids to ice cream or something, and that’s way more fun than a pair of leggings.
So there you have it. Those are my reasons for not buying LuLaRoe. It’s not that I don’t want to support my friends and their businesses; I really am just not interested in the products. I hope that putting this out there will stop all the unsolicited invites and adds. If not, I guess I’ll just keep removing myself on my own, grumbling under my breath. LOL
